Here are some of the most common questions asked by our students considering taking part in our Teacher Training. You can also take a look at our blog post all about what we’re offering you.
What level do you expect from students?
The most important qualities in a trainee are an open mind, a willingness to learn, and the intention to work hard. We would ask you to practice yoga before and during the training on a regular basis as well. We usually recommend 2 years practice, but commitment to your yoga practice is the most important.
What if I have to miss a class?
Yoga Alliance requires 100% attendance to be eligible for certification. We ask that you be present at all of the training modules. However we know that sometimes life throws up surprises. If you know of any scheduling conflicts, please communicate them in advance of the course commencing so that we can help you make up hours.
I’m not sure if I want to teach yoga, can I still do the course?
Of course. A teacher training course is a wonderful way to deepen your own understanding of Yoga even if you don’t want to pursue it professionally.
Who is delivering the Teacher Training Course?
We draw from our faculty of experienced teachers to ensure a variety of styles.
What level of commitment is expected outside of class hours?
We encourage our trainees to develop their own self practice and attend classes. If you are doing the course with the goal of becoming a teacher, a regular practice is essential. Ideally you will set up a class with family and/or friends so that you can put your new skills into practice. Trainees keep a practice log which is reviewed by us at each module and this becomes an invaluable resource for your own learning.
Will I be qualified to teach yoga once I complete the 200 Hour Teacher Training Course?
Yes. We are fully accredited by Yoga Alliance so you will also be eligible to sign up with them as a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 200) if you wish. In fact we encourage you to start teaching before even completing the course as this will be a valuable part of your learning.
