Welcoming Hannah Johari to the Yoga Hub Family

I was a student of Pilates for 4 years before committing myself to get my qualification and start teaching. I decided to start teaching Pilates as it had such a positive effect on my life and I wanted to pass that on to others.  Pilates was originally named “contrology”, it consisted of 34 matwork movements which have been modified over the years but the core of the exercises remain the same. Joseph Pilates himself said “In 10 sessions you’ll feel the difference, in 20 you’ll see the difference and in 30 you’ll have a whole new body”. This is the most accurate description of how Pilates can completely transform your body into a stronger, leaner more toned shape. Pilates works wonders for your posture, even after a short time practising Pilates you will find you are standing better and carrying your body in a different way. If you have had any back pain in your life (which 85% of us do!) Pilates can help, if not eliminate, those pains and give you a fresh lease of life.

Pilates is a thinking movement, it requires your full attention when practising. There are 3 main areas of focus in Pilates which are breathing, spine and core and we are constantly aware of these elements when taking part in Pilates. It is more than just an exercise class, it is a chance to get to know and understand your body in a way you might not have before. During a Pilate’s class you have the opportunity to de-stress your mind and body while getting a extremely effective whole body workout.

I started YogaHub out of a room at the back of someone else's house back in 2012 with nothing more than an idea. I'd been teaching Yoga since 2008 and had no intention of opening a Yoga Studio. I think, like everything I've done, I just decided one day I was going to give it a try. And try I did and if you're reading this I guess I'm still trying.
